Key trends for the Climate Tech ecosystem in 2025

2025-03-03

Barcelona once again became a strategic meeting point for climate innovation during the third edition of Climate Dialogues, held at 4YFN, the startup event of the Mobile World Congress. The session gathered investors, entrepreneurs, and experts to debate the trends shaping the future of Climate Tech in 2025.

Organized by Inclimo Climate Tech Fund, SET Ventures, Acton Capital, Vireo Ventures, Lumo Labs, and Zubi Labs, the event underscored the need to accelerate innovation and investment in clean technologies to achieve decarbonization targets.

Impact investing and the role of AI

A central theme was the role of impact investing as a driver of the ecosystem. Investors stressed the importance of supporting startups that combine profitability with measurable positive environmental impact, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Artificial intelligence (AI) emerged as a key enabler, with applications in energy optimization, smart grids, agricultural efficiency, and the development of sustainable materials. Experts highlighted its potential to analyze large-scale climate data and support strategic decision-making.

Startups and innovation focus

Six pioneering startups presented their solutions: Tennders, Woodea, Clevergy, CQuel, Skyfora, and Flexidao, covering areas such as circular economy, sustainable mobility, renewable energy, and sustainability digitalization.

Discussions emphasized that heavy industry decarbonization, building energy efficiency, and regenerative agriculture will be top priorities for innovation and investment in 2025.

A joint call to action

Climate Dialogue 3 showcased the maturity and dynamism of the European ecosystem. The event concluded with a clear call for collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, and public institutions to scale solutions and build a more resilient and sustainable future.
