Climate Tech at a Turning Point: Innovation for a New Economic Cycle

2026-01-20

The sixth edition of Climate Hack – Climate Dialogues focused on a pivotal moment for the climate tech ecosystem: the beginning of a new economic cycle for Climate Tech. In a context shaped by technological acceleration, regulatory pressure, and climate urgency, the event offered a strategic perspective on the solutions set to drive the next wave of sustainable transformation.

Organized by Inclimo Climate Tech Fund, Zubi Labs, BStartup by Banco Sabadell, and Norrsken Barcelona, the gathering brought together investors, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem leaders from across Europe to exchange insights, explore market dynamics, and highlight investment opportunities with the potential for systemic impact.

Capital and strategy in the new investment cycle

The roundtable, moderated by Laurent Arens van de Perre (Director of BStartup10, Banco Sabadell), examined how capital raising and deployment are evolving in 2025 within a structurally different economic and geopolitical environment.

Participants included:

  • Alberto EcheverriPartner, Adara Ventures
  • Max WernyVenture Associate, Zero Carbon Capital
  • Michael LangguthFounding Partner, Carbon13

During the discussion, speakers analyzed shifts in investment strategies, the growing role of specialized funds, and the need to align patient capital with business models capable of scaling in critical industrial sectors. They agreed that Climate Tech is entering a more mature phase, where the combination of financial discipline, measurable impact, and technological ambition will be decisive.

Scaling climate impact at industrial pace

The second part of the event featured a fireside chat moderated by Rocio Alcocer (Managing Director, Norrsken Barcelona), focused on the challenges of building climate companies able to operate at industrial scale.

Participants were:

  • Lucas CarnéCEO, 011h
  • Nuno BritoCEO, Goparity

Both shared their growth journeys and the main operational challenges they face when transforming traditional sectors through advanced climate technologies. The conversation highlighted that lasting climate impact is only possible when combined with industrial execution, operational robustness, and a clear market value proposition.

Barcelona as an emerging climate innovation hub

A key takeaway from the dialogue was clear: Climate Tech is no longer a future promise, but an economic infrastructure in the making. Spain — and Barcelona in particular — is consolidating its position as an increasingly influential hub connecting talent, capital, and technological innovation with a European outlook.

A growing community driving action

After the sessions, participants gathered in a networking space designed to foster new connections between investors, startups, and ecosystem stakeholders, accompanied by drinks and light catering.

With this edition, Climate Dialogues reaffirms its mission: to be a platform for action and collaboration that connects capital, technology, and purpose to accelerate the transition toward a climate-neutral economy.
